Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Cosmuna website, web app, and mobile app (collectively, the "Service"). Cosmuna provides astrology-based reflection tools and an AI companion. For privacy matters, contact us at privacy@cosmuna.com.

Information you provide:

• Account details (e.g. email address, authentication identifiers).
• Birth data you enter — birth date, birth time, and birth place — used to calculate your chart.
• Profile information such as name, gender, and tone preferences.
• Context you choose to add — goals, key people and relationships, notable dates, journal and manifestation inputs.
• Your messages to Cosmo and feedback on readings.

Information collected automatically:

• IP address and approximate location derived from it.
• Device and usage information.
• Cookies and local storage (see Section 14).
• Push notification tokens, if you enable notifications.

Payment information: payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card details.

• Calculate your chart and personalize guidance.
• Maintain conversation history and cross-session memory.
• Generate AI responses to your questions.
• Provide support and respond to your requests.
• Process payments and manage points and subscriptions.
• Keep the Service safe — detect and prevent abuse and misuse.
• Improve and develop the Service.
• Comply with legal obligations.

To generate responses, your messages and relevant context (such as chart factors and memory) are processed by third-party AI providers, including DeepSeek and OpenAI. We also use AI services to create semantic search embeddings and to moderate content for safety.

This means some of your content is transmitted to and processed by these providers under their terms. Please add sensitive information only when you are comfortable having it used to personalize your guidance.

Cosmo maintains memory so it can remember what matters to you across conversations — including structured working memory (goals, key people, tone), and observations drawn from your chats. You can clear chat history and memory, and update or remove your birth data, through the app or by contacting privacy@cosmuna.com.

To protect users and comply with the law, we automatically screen messages for abusive, sexual, and harmful content. When content is flagged, we record an event with metadata — the category, a confidence score, a one-way hash of the message (not the message text itself), the IP address, and timestamp — so we can review patterns, enforce our Acceptable Use Policy, and meet reporting obligations. Content involving the sexual exploitation of minors is reported to the appropriate authorities.

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:

• Service providers (subprocessors) who help us operate the Service — including Google/Firebase (authentication, database, storage, hosting), AI providers (DeepSeek, OpenAI), our payment processor, and hosting/infrastructure providers.
• Legal and safety — where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or Cosmuna.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and afterwards only as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Safety and moderation records may be retained longer where required for legal or reporting purposes. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your account credentials confidential.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data:

• India (DPDP Act): access, correction, completion, updating, and erasure of your data, the right to nominate, and the right to grievance redressal (see Section 11).
• EU/UK (GDPR): access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and the right to object to certain processing.
• California (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know, delete, and correct your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information.

To exercise any right, email privacy@cosmuna.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

In accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you may raise any concern or complaint about how your data is handled by contacting our Grievance Officer at privacy@cosmuna.com. We will acknowledge and address grievances within the timelines required by applicable law.

Cosmuna is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact privacy@cosmuna.com and we will delete it.

We are based in India and use service providers located in other countries (for example, AI providers in the United States). Your data may therefore be processed outside your country of residence, under appropriate safeguards where required by law.

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and operate the Service. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
